  1. Mountain Pose

Just as the name reflects, Mountain Pose is the base for standing poses. As you stand up tall in a mountain pose, you can feel the earth below your feet. This may seem like just standing, but this means more than this.

Stand straight with your feet close together. Next you have to press down all your toes and spread them open. Use your quadriceps to lift kneecaps through your inner thighs. Press the tops of your shoulder down and inhale to draw in your abdominals in and up along with lifting up your chest. Hold your breath for 5 to 8 seconds as you feel your shoulder blades coming to each other and your palms facing towards your body.

  1. Downward Facing Dog

The pose Downward Facing Dog, will help you in stretching your body to your fullest and strengthen your muscles as well.

Place your hands and feet on the ground in such a way, that your wrists are under your shoulders and your knees are under your hips. Now lift your hips up and draw them back towards your heel. Try to straighten out your legs as you lift up your hips. Move your hands ahead and stretch yourself for more space. Now, press your palms firmly on the ground and rotate your elbows towards each other. You have to manage to keep moving your torso at the back. Maintain this position for about 5 to 8 seconds and give yourself rest.

  1. Plank

Doing planks can strengthen your abdominals and make you capable of using the breath whilst staying in a quite challenging pose. As you place your body in the plank pose, you get to learn to balance your entire body on your hands.

Get on all your fours. Keep your toes tucked to the ground and lift up your legs. Balance a position that makes you feel straight from your head to your toe. Pull your ribs together, let your shoulders be drawn down and while engaging your lower abdominals, take 9-10 breaths.

  1. Triangle

With the triangle pose, you can embrace the stretches that will relax and strengthen your muscles. It is the pose that stretches the sides of your waist whilst opening up your lungs and strengthening your entire body.

Stand upright with your feet apart. Now open up your arms and stretch them to the sides at your shoulder’s height. Turn out your right foot to 90 degrees and left toes in about 45 degrees. As you move over your right side, engage your quadriceps and abdominals. You must now place your right hand on your ankle or shin and lift up your left arm to the top. Look up and hold for 5 to 8 breaths. Repeat the same posture for your left side.

  1. Tree

Yoga is all about relaxing and calming down your muscles with balance. Tree pose allows you to gain focus and clarity by balancing your entire body on one foot and breathe.

Stand straight on the ground with one foot placed on the inner thigh of the other foot. Press your hands together in a prayer position and start gazing upon a spot right in front of you. Take 8-10 breaths and then switch sides. Tip: keep your shoulders relaxed and abdominals engaged.

  1. Bridge

To strengthen your back muscles, a back bend is most effective, as it stretches your entire front body and strengthens your back body.

Lay down on the ground and place your feet firmly on the ground. Keep your feet steady and lift up your hip from the ground. As you open up your chest more, place your hands together and make a fist down under your chest. Engage your hamstrings and drag your heels towards your back. Repeat the same posture twice.

  1. Child’s pose

Since yoga is all about relaxing, Child’s pose is the most reliable and soothing one for all. It is the posture that allows you to rest and sooth yourself. You can relax your muscles with Child’s pose when you’re fatigued or depressed. With Child’s pose you will experience stress relief.

Sit down on the ground and bring your knees and feet together, your hip to the back and your arms stretched forward. As you stretch your arms, lower your head to the floor and relax as your body releases. Maintain this pose for as long as you desire.
