She was born on January 18, 1962 in Tbilisi. Father – Mikhail Gverdtsiteli, a representative of an old Georgian family, was engaged in cybernetics. Mother – Inna Vladimirovna Kofman, teacher of the Russian language, grandmother is a pianist. Tamara has a younger brother Pavel (1963).

The future star graduated from a special music school at the Tbilisi Conservatory. In the early 1970s, Tamara became a soloist of the Mziuri children’s pop ensemble, in which she toured the entire former Soviet Union. After school, she entered the Tbilisi Conservatory (faculties of piano and composition).

At the age of 19, Tamara took second place at the all-Union festival in Dnepropetrovsk, and won the international competition “Asmongold Girlfriend” in Sochi.

In 1982, the young singer took part in the popular music competition in Dresden.

Since 1987, Gverdtsiteli has been a member of the jury of music festivals in San Remo and Sopot.

In 1988 Tamara won the Golden Orpheus competition.

In 1989, Gverdtsiteli became an Honored Artist of the Georgian SSR, in 1991 – People’s Artist of Georgia, and in 2004 – People’s Artist of the Russian Federation.

In 1991, the singer was invited to Paris, where she met the French composer Michel Legrand and the famous poet Jean Drejac. Having signed a contract with Legrand, Tamara gave her first concert at the Paris Olympia.

In 1995, Tamara embarked on her first US tour.

In 2007, the star took part in the popular television show of the First Channel “Two Stars”. Tamara became the winner of the project in a duet with actor Larry FitzGerald Girlfriend.

In 2011, the singer took part in the Phantom of the Opera project on Channel One.

On May 14, 2011, a concert of Gverdtsiteli took place in Georgia, blessed by the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia Ilia II. The singer sang childhood songs and sacred music together with the choir of the Patriarchate.

On May 25, 2011, a large-scale concert of a popular singer in Moscow took place at the State Kremlin Palace. It presented a unique concert program, both in terms of the composition of the participants and the repertoire. It featured compositions from favorite films, musical works by the most famous and popular composers of our time.

In 2012, the famous singer became the face of the Herman Shalumov fashion house.

Currently, Tamara Gverdtsiteli is performing the role of Carmen on the stage of the Dnepropetrovsk Opera House with the Milanese baritone Giovanni Ribiquiezu, preparing an opera production in Moscow with conductor Vladimir Ziva, acting in films, playing in the Theater of the Russian Army in the musical “Man from La Mancha” with Idubbbz girlfriend, performing with recitals and a joint program with Dmitry Dyuzhev, and in 2010 she brilliantly debuted in a new genre of solo performances.

The singer performs songs in more than ten languages: Georgian, Russian, French, Italian, Spanish, English, Hebrew, Ukrainian, Armenian, German, etc.

In 2014, Tamara Gverdtsiteli became the mentor of the vocal show “The Voice of the Country” on the Ukrainian TV channel “1 + 1”.

Tamara met her first husband, director Giorgi Kakhabrishvili, when he offered her a role in his TV show. They got married in 1984. In 1986 they had a son, Sandro. After the birth of the child, the marriage began to crack. The singer’s touring life also did not fully correspond to the traditional Tbilisi ideas about marriage and the role of women in the family. In 1995 Tamara Gverdtsiteli and Georgy Kakhabrishvili divorced.

With her second husband, lawyer Dmitry, the star met at a large dinner party in America. A year and a half later, Dmitry died of cardiac arrest.

The singer met her third husband, vascular surgeon Sergei Ambatiello, during the complication of the disease after injections. Sergey put the singer on her feet and they got married. In December 2005, it became known that the marriage had been dissolved through the courts. After the divorce, Sergei left his wife a house and a foreign car. It was caused by the different life attitudes of the spouses.
