The device is yet another notch-packing smartphone, but with all the qualities of a decent budget model. This device is one of Huawei’s few smartphones without the Kirin chipset. The Honor brand has a long-standing reputation for elitist design, but these days, design styles are still at a high standard, but prices are affordable. Honor 8c
At the top of the display is a small notch that houses the selfie camera and earpieces. The ratio of the screen to the main body of the display is very good at 86.6%. The device measures 158.72X75.94X7.98mm and is only 7.98mm thick. It weighs only 167.2g. Honor 8C
The chipset is built on the success of the SD625 and SD626SoC. It boasts an improvement of up to 40% compared to its predecessor. The graphics are equipped with Adreno 506 GPU. The device is only offered in the 4GB RAM variant, but 32GB and 64GB storage options are available. I could see Honor later introduce a 6GB RAM variant. The smartphone actually comes with a dual SIM card and a separate microSD slot, so you don’t have to sacrifice a second SIM card for the SD card. The smartphone runs Huawei’s custom EMUI 8.2 based on Android 8.1 Oreo. Honor 8C
The vertically placed rear shooter design is very spectacular, with both sensors standing apart, similar to the Honor 8X design. The rear camera supports autofocus, continuous capture, and AI beauty features. The 8C also has a fingerprint sensor mounted on the back to unlock the device.
The device is available in four different colors. The honor 8c mobile price tag of 1099 yuan ($ 158) for the 4GB + 32GB variant and 1,399 yuan ($ 201) for the 4GB + 64GB variant. Reservations are already active at Honor’s flagship store in TMall.
Honor 8C Hands-on Photos: A decent budget version of 8X
Honor launched the Honor 8C today. This is basically an affordable phone with a starting price of 1099 yuan ($ 158). Despite its affordability, the Honor 8C comes with a compatible Snapdragon 632 chipset, making it the first device to take advantage of Qualcomm’s new chipset.
The design of the Honor 3C is very similar to the Honor 8X, except that it’s cheap. To cut the price, Honor used a plastic back panel for the design. The device has a display with HD + resolution of 1520x720p less than 6.26 inches. The model uses a 19: 9 aspect ratio and actually has a 5.5-inch device-like body. Similarly, it has only a small notch and a small chin on the front, and according to Honor, the screen ratio is 86.6%.
Honor 8C is available in 4GB RAM + 32GB storage and 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variations. I’m running Android 8.1 Oreo-based EMUI 8.2, but I expect Android Pie updates to be applied to my device shortly. The camera design is also similar to the Honor 8X design because it is positioned perpendicular to the LED flash below. There is also a badge below to indicate that the camera is an AI shooter. Also, the phone has a 4000mAh battery, but it doesn’t have fast charging technology.
